SINGAPORE SCORES SECOND-HIGHEST GOLD MEDAL HAUL TO DATE AT WORLDSKILLS ASEAN 2025
Singapore also clinched Gold Medals in four skill areas for the first time at the region’s largest skills competition
MANILA, PHILIPPINES, 31 August 2025 – Flying the nation’s flag high, Team Singapore delivered a strong performance at the 14th WorldSkills ASEAN Competition, clinching a total of 20 medals at the biennial regional skills competition held in Manila, Philippines from 25 to 30 August 2025.
2 Represented by 32 youths competing in 16 skill areas, Singapore won six Gold Medals, four Silver Medals, four Bronze Medals and six Medallions for Excellence.
3 This is the second-highest number of Gold Medals that Singapore has won to date, at the WorldSkills ASEAN Competition. The current record for the highest number of Gold Medals won by Team Singapore is eight, which was achieved at WorldSkills ASEAN 2023. Singapore also won Gold Medals in four skill areas for the first time – (i) Autonomous Mobile Robotics, (ii) Fashion Technology, (iii) Restaurant Service, and (iv) Web Technologies.
4 Ms Tan Jie Ying (Information Network Cabling) from the Institute of Technical Education (ITE) clinched the Best of Nation Award, which is presented to the highest Gold Medal scorer of each participating country.

6 Team Singapore’s achievements placed Singapore fourth among the participating ASEAN Member States in Gold Medal count. Please refer to Annex A for details of Singapore’s achievements in Manila, and Annex B for the list of Team Singapore competitors.
7 Mr Tan Kok Yam, Chairman of WorldSkills Singapore Council and Chief Executive of SkillsFuture Singapore, said, “Our young competitors have shown that when passion meets purpose, excellence follows. They have shown commendable grit and talent by rising to the occasion and competing at the highest levels. They have done Singapore proud, and at the same time attained new heights in their personal growth and skills development.”
8 Mr Esben Mong, Team Singapore’s captain, said, “I am very proud of the team’s performance, especially since this is Singapore’s second-highest Gold Medal haul to date. It was heartening to see everyone supporting each other throughout the competition journey.”
