Peak Performance Training Camp: Building Bonds, Developing Confidence
The countdown is on! With the 48th WorldSkills Competition in Shanghai drawing closer, Team Singapore came together for an energising two-day Peak Performance Training (PPT) Camp on 15–16 June 2026. The camp was an opportunity for competitors to build confidence, sharpen their mindset and strengthen the team spirit that will carry them onto the world stage.
Across the two days, the camp buzzed with energy, laughter and meaningful connections. Through team-building activities, leadership exercises and personal development sessions, competitors stepped out of their comfort zones, forged new friendships and discovered what it means to support one another as one united Team Singapore.
One unforgettable highlight was the experiential learning journey at the Singapore Association of the Visually Handicapped (SAVH), where competitors took part in a dining experience conducted in complete darkness. The activity challenged them to rely on their other senses and offered a powerful lesson in empathy, inclusivity and resilience—qualities that matter just as much as skills excellence.
The team spirit continued to grow with the election of Team Captains who will lead and rally the contingent in the months ahead. Congratulations to Tan Jie Ying (ICT Network Infrastructure) and Sheryl Ong Shi Qi (Visual Merchandising), who were chosen by their fellow competitors for their enthusiasm, commitment and strong sense of camaraderie.
Adding to the excitement, competitors unleashed their creativity by composing Team Singapore’s very own cheers. Packed with passion and pride, these rallying cries will help lift morale and energise the team as they prepare to take on the world’s best in Shanghai.
Families were also brought into the journey through a special Parents’ Information Dinner on 15 June, where they learnt more about the competition, travel arrangements and support plans for the contingent. By the end of the camp, Team Singapore emerged stronger, closer and more united – ready to bring their skills, determination and team spirit to the global stage. Shanghai, here we come!
