Meet Muraliraj s/o Rajoo Devaraj

Talent: Industrial Control
Institution/Organisation: Ngee Ann Polytechnic

Muraliraj s/o Rajoo Devaraj has been working and gaining experience as an engineer for several years now. Yet he counts the WorldSkills Competition that he participated in while studying at Ngee Ann Polytechnic as a professional milestone.

“The WorldSkills Competition benefited me in various aspects of my life, including my professional life. Due to the vigorous training provided to prepare for the competition, I obtained in-depth, hands-on technical skills that have stood me well throughout my study years as well as in my career” said Muraliraj s/o Rajoo Devaraj.

Muraliraj participated in WorldSkills Singapore 2004, winning the Gold Medal in the area of Industrial Control. This gave him the opportunity to represent Singapore in the international WorldSkills Competition 2005 held in Helsinki, Finland. The different arena, constituting international competitors equipped with wider and deeper skill sets, helped broaden his horizons technically. Moreover, being the Captain of the Singapore Team resulted in his leadership skills being stretched to deal with new challenges that his team of Singapore competitors championed through.

After graduating from NP, Muraliraj pursued his studies in National University of Singapore where he received his degree in Electrical Engineering in 2010. He is currently working in Singapore Power as an Engineer in the field of Power Engineering.
