Shauna Tan Shi-Yu

Shauna always wanted to prove to herself that she can do anything once she puts her mind into a pursuit. When the opportunity to compete in a national competition arose, she quickly rose to the challenge. After months of hard work practice, she made it to the winners’ podium. She feels honoured to be representing Singapore for the WorldSkills Kazan 2019. The competition will raise her skills to the next level and helps to build up her character and mental strength.

“This competition is no longer about me competing to prove to myself that I can be better than what I set myself up to be. I’m here to represent the people who have put in so much effort to get me to where I am today. For my coaches whom groomed me since day 1 and put their heart and soul into helping me achieve my goals. For my school who believes in my capabilities and pushed me past my struggles. For everyone who has supported me through tough times while training. Last but not least, for my country, which I will gladly wear the flag to an international arena. I owe them the world and I will do my absolute best to make them proud.”
