March 10, 2007 – We had our second skills exchange program, and this time we invited a trainer from Omron for workshop on Introduction to PLC and Automation Control. In the half day workshop, participants learned how an Omron PLC is programmed and how it is connected to devices to control a production machine. With a simulated production machine, the participants also had opportunity for hands on programming!
Back in November 2006, we had our first skills update workshop, on Basic Industrial Automation Workshop by Festo Singapore.
In the short half day workshop, participants had the opportunity to learn the development of industrial process from manual operation, mechanization to automation, the terms used in automation and its benefits, and even had the chance to work hands on, on the various pneumatic actuators and valves!
